Vote 18 Project Grant

The Corpus Christi League of Women Voters Education Fund has received a grant from the LWV-Texas state organization to help finance a campaign to register young voters. We will be partnering with other civic groups to target High School seniors thoughout the metro area in advance of the spring primary elections.

Vote 18 Project Details

LWV-CC Board Members Sandra Heatherley and Twila Mouttet are the Vote 18 co-chairs. After a successful meeting with community partners on November 30th to "kick off' The planning for the VOTE 18 project, the partners decided to focus on the High Schools located in areas which contain precincts with historically low voter turn-out. Those schools are; Robstown High School, Roy Miller High School, Foy Moody High School,West Oso High School, and the Collegiate High School at Del Mar. Our partners include the Republican and Democrat Women of Nueces County, the Hispanic Womens Network,and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. The next meeting of the group will occur on December 14th at the Regional Transportation office on Bear Lane at 5:30 PM.
